Build a more accessible image for French wines

 

Big Idea

The challenge was to get rid of the usual clichés associated with  French wines (staid, old fashioned, overly complex) and create a positive interaction with the Dutch consumer. Based on the assumption that there is always a French wine to suit  the consumer’s state of mind, we launched a “Wine mood” campaign and challenged the audience with the question: “What wine mood are you in today?” Are you feeling  adventurous, romantic, relaxed, nostalgic, naughty? The consumer then received a short list of French wines to match their mood. This approach worked very well on a PR, press, retail and online level simply because it broke the French codes in a nice and credible way.  With this campaign, our agency went on to win  the Wine Marketing Award.
